Expert medical advice and assistance
A fast and efficient multi-lingual advice and medical assistance service is available 24 hours a day 365/6 days a year from the Assistance Company.

Medical and emergency dental expenses
The policyholder can opt to meet the cost of outpatient treatment and subsequently seek reimbursement. If, after consultation with the local treating doctor, the Medical Officer of the Assistance Company deems it necessary, the Assistance Company will make arrangements for the patient to be transferred to the hospital or clinic which they decide is most suitable, having regard to the treatment required. If it should be deemed medically essential by the Medical Officer of the Assistance Company, the patient will be transported to their Home Country.

All arrangements in respect of emergency treatment and associated transportation must be made by the Assistance Company

Pregnancy
If complications occur up to and including the birth then, if after consultation with the local treating doctor the Medical Officer of the Assistance Company deems emergency treatment necessary, the cost of such treatment will be met. Please note, the resulting child is NOT covered under either Parent’s Policy.

Fully screened and tested blood
Fully screened and tested blood and resuscitating fluids are provided. If a particular type of blood is not available from the blood transfusion service because of a specific genotype, eg, obscure sickle cell disease, supplies are obtained on an international basis from a leading national blood authority. The Assistance Company must be contacted.

Emergency travel and accommodation costs
If these are deemed medically essential by the Medical Officer of the Assistance Company, economy class return travel and reasonable accommodation costs for a maximum of two people to join the Insured will be met, as defined in the policy.


Travel Expenses - Key Features

Cancellation or curtailment of the planned trip
If the originally planned trip has to be cancelled or curtailed due to the policyholder being injured or illness, or because of the death, injury of illness of an individual, as defined in the policy document, which is validated by a qualified medical practitioner, or in any other circumstances beyond the policyholder’s reasonable control then any irrecoverable costs will be met.
